  it's always tough when you have to part ways with a guy who mean meant so much to the organization which steo Samuel did but and it's really difficult to pinpoint Jennifer how things went so wrong kind of quickly during the 24 season it really did I mean I think what happened part of it was Brandon a got hurt they needed to rely on Deo Samuel and I don't know whether he was unable to carry as much weight as he has in the past you know like he did in 2019 when he's you know when they did that Super Bowl Round I mean Debo was the 49ers offense that year and you know his body took a beating I just don't know whether that's part of it you know we've seen him come into Camp lean we've seen him come into Camp heavy and we know how much that extra weight does for his play on the field and I really thought that the way Brandon IOU treated his contract situation and just things were weird Debo Samuel had a very good training camp he came into the regular season ready to go I thought he did all the right things leading into the 24 season he got off to a good start and then he had that pneumonia spent a couple nights in the hospital and it just seemed like he wasn't the same player after that and it wasn't just on the field you know just he just didn't seem like the same guy in the locker room either he just seemed frustrated the whole season and you know maybe rightfully so the 49ers had a really bad year they finished six and 11 and he often times was part of the problem not part of the solution you know when when people were talking about his stats being at all-time lows you know he complained about not getting enough chances he went on social media and said that and then what happened the very next game he dropped a crucial pass that could have gone for a touchdown against the Rams and you know would the perers have been in the playoffs had he made that play yeah probably not but it would have it you know it would have pushed their expiration date at least one more week down the road right and you know we saw things from Deo samel that we didn't see ever in the past like him confronting Jake Moody during that game where he missed three kicks I mean yes understand the frustration but this is a locker room that does not point fingers at all and to see that and you know they can spin it however they want to where you know it was just they got closer from it or he was trying to be supportive and he would have done it to anybody but that and the way he kind of put on social media that you know he just wasn't getting the ball those are things that the forat those are kind of things they I think it you know lets the hair on the back like Rises the hair on the back of their neck a little bit it's something that they don't want to see from any other players and it's not something that they have in the past
