handstands. So, I put handstands in here because you you've trained handstands, but you also have a gymnastics background, but I just know some people that like just want to train it for the sake of it. I think climbers are always tempted by calisthenics exercises in general because we're kind of into party tricks like one arm pull-ups, front levers, and then the next logical progression is handstands obviously. Um, but you think there's some some benefits to it as well, right? Through the the upper traps. It's almost like antagonist training in that sense. I I think there's multiple benefits to it. It's opens your shoulders up. So, a lot of climbers struggle with uh tight pec minor and pec major muscles. So, that kind of rounded shoulder feel. Same with the lats as well. By doing handstands, you automatically open that up if you're not arching your back too much. It's really good for your upper traps and your deltoids and shoulders for stability. actually opens up your forearms quite a bit because you have to have flat hands. Like if you try it with your with your fingers spread apart, it does stretch your forearms and you are working in that position whilst you're adjusting. Um, also it's really good for balance. And I've talked about this previously, but in terms of learning, being uh upside down and working on balance, it can really help with your learning effects for the next few hours. Um, I think that's on a Andrew Hubman podcast somewhere and there's some research behind that. Um, I think again for me it's great for buying. I've given it to a lot of athletes over the years as another skill set that is low fatigue, doesn't affect the rest of training. It actually supports the rest of training. Um, and it gen tends to produce some good results where you can see measurable gain to being able to hold it. Is it transferable? Not a huge amount other than those range of motions. So, I'd say I'd say it's okay.

The trendline is visible, but the dated evidence behind gymnastics is in the premium layer.
