  Second, today's theories or modern theories about culture and ethnicity and theology and economy may be of value to other nations or in other nations, but our American national identity is unique because it is the sole basis for our American nation and our American nationhood. Consequently, alternative solutions that are being offered are little more than unhelpful distractions. Our American nationhood explicitly rejected ethnationalism. Christian doctrine neither pulled Americans together nor distinguish them from their British overlords. And finally, the concepts, the organizing principles of American nationhood are far more extensive and far more profound than the materialist vision offered by Karl Marx and his admirers. I don't doubt the sincerity of those transfixed by Marks or Trump or even Moses and the Ten Commandments. But none of these, dare I say, influencers were the basis of our American national bond. Thus, before you jettison our defining American national principles, before you commit to make America great British again, consider my offering, the 10 American commandments. I designed them as the means to gain an appreciation for our American nationhood, our defining principles, and our national mission.
